TASK3: REFLECTION-ON-ACTION

As I reflect on my learning journey through the four modules of this course, I can draw several links between the different content domains of Core, Cross-cutting, and Complementary.

In Module 1, I focused on personal development and acquiring foundational skills. The Core domain provided me with knowledge of team dynamics, communication skills, and understanding the stages of team development through Tuckman's model. This knowledge was complemented by the Cross-cutting domain, which introduced me to the concepts of epistemology and ontology, highlighting the importance of context in knowledge production. The Complementary domain emphasized conflict resolution and effective communication techniques, essential for fostering teamwork and collaboration.

Moving on to Module 2, I explored the history of medicine and the development of healthcare practices. The Core domain deepened my understanding of the evolution of medicine and the contributions of figures like Hippocrates. The Cross-cutting domain encouraged me to consider the limitations of historical medical practices and their impact on patient care. Additionally, the Complementary domain pushed me to improve my time management skills, as balancing course work with other commitments proved challenging.

In Module 3, my focus shifted to health information systems, scholarship, and the history of health systems. The Core domain provided me with knowledge of various health information systems and their role in healthcare delivery. The Cross-cutting domain highlighted the interdisciplinary nature of scholarship in the healthcare field, emphasizing collaboration and the ethical use of data. The Complementary domain allowed me to delve into the history of health systems and understand their evolution, along with the importance of developing equitable systems.

Finally, in Module 4, I explored health policy and systems. The Core domain deepened my understanding of the foundational components and frameworks within this discipline. The Cross-cutting domain encouraged a multidimensional approach by incorporating insights from various fields, while the Complementary domain provided practical applications and policy analysis techniques.

Throughout the course, I have improved in several areas. My communication skills have seen significant growth, particularly in terms of effective team communication and expressing ideas clearly and concisely. I have also developed critical thinking skills, enabling me to comprehend complex concepts and evaluate their significance. Additionally, I have become more adept at time management and troubleshooting technical issues related to online learning platforms.

However, there are still areas for improvement. I recognize the need to continue honing my communication skills, especially in forming team morale and fostering effective collaboration. I also aim to further strengthen my time management strategies to ensure a better balance between course work and other responsibilities. Additionally, I aspire to deepen my understanding of complex systems and expand my knowledge of health policy and systems.

Overall, I am proud of the progress I have made throughout this course. The interconnected nature of the content domains has provided me with a well-rounded understanding of the subject matter. As I continue my learning journey, I am determined to build upon my strengths while focusing on areas that require further development.
